Individual Therapy

People seek therapy for a wide variety of reasons, from coping with major life challenges or childhood trauma, to dealing with depression or anxiety, to simply desiring personal growth and greater self-knowledge. A client and therapist may work together for as few as five or six sessions or as long as several years, depending on the client’s unique needs and personal goals for therapy.
Individual therapy starts with a comprehensive assessment process. Rosalind will in a safe, respectful and caring treatment environment, ask you about what brings you to see her, and then she will ask about your family history and your current situations, stresses and challenges. She will also want to know about your strengths and weaknesses.  This sounds a lot to do, but it is usually achievable within one or two sessions.
Therapy involves talking about your feelings, thoughts, and behaviours and the things that are troubling you. You might spend time talking about your relationships with others, the things you are good at and the things you would like to do better.

Gold Coast Therapy Services

Based on what we come up with together, Rosalind will help to simplify your problems, and work with you to set your personal goals or identify the things you would like to accomplish by working together. She will also work with you on different strategies to help you reach your goals. In some cases this could mean helping you to change patterns of thinking or learning new skills or ways to behave. Sometimes, if appropriate, Rosalind will develop exercises for you to practice at home so that you can practice outside of sessions some of the things you are learning.
